Is the Freedom to Live Sinfully the top reason why many choose to deny God’s existence and His coming judgement?

Yes, that is one of the primary reasons. But the most primary reason why people deny the existence of God is pride. This is exactly the same arrogance that has granted humanity its greatest downfall.

Freedom is not about doing what one wants to do. Many people think that they can do all the things they want even if those be immoral acts becasue they are free. But, contrary to this, people who choose to be Christians even upon knowing the demands of Christ are, in fact, those who express their true freedom. Their freedom is expressed exactly by choosing to suffer freely. They are free because they are masters of their own body. They don’t succumb to every whims and temptations that their body desires. This may seem to others as stupid. Well, the wisdom of God is foolishness to the Gentiles.

Our freedom is a limited one. We can choose to do good or do evil. But ultimately claiming which is good and which is bad is not anymore part of the human freedom. If in the eyes of God, what you did is wrong, you can still do it, but it will remain wrong no matter what. There lies the limitation of man in claiming to be free.

Our freedom came from God, so it must have as its end the source, God. We are not using our freedom properly if we use it to sin because God gave us freedom in order that we can freely choose Him. If use it to sin, we are technically misusing our freedom because we don’t have God, which is The source, as the end of our actions.
