Democrats: what should be our priorties this time out?

I watch, in stunned disbelief, as once again the more liberal factions within the Democratic party demand to have their banners at the front of the parade. It is utter childishness, and a certain formula for ultimate defeat, to wave the banners of gay rights, immigration reform, gun control, women’s issues, racial issues while this country is in very real danger from enemies of freedom, both foreign and domestic. The gargantuan banking and insurance industries are being allowed to commit what amounts to theft of our very identities while lawmakers provide them shields of immunity. Our right to privacy is being now routinely violated with impugnity in the name of commerce. Our civil rights are being thrown on the bonfires of fear in a blind panic to protect us out of existence. Our schools have become little more than indoctrination camps, where the only diversity not celebrated, but openly rebuked, is diversity of opinion. Orwell’s “newspeak” is now codified in our laws . . . .
. . . and, so, I ask you: is it time to rethink our priorities, unite under one banner, and throw all our efforts behind winning the next presidential election?
